2010 Overview

In 2010, we reviewed our approach to human rights to ensure that we recognize and implement the principles in our Code of Ethics and that we ensure compliance in our investment and procurement practices, continue to train on our non-discrimination and non-harassment policies, support our workforce, lived up to our collective bargaining commitments, and continue to be vigilant about child and forced labor (although these issues do not appear to be a great a risk in the majority of our supply chain).

We believe that we have expanded our internal and external communications on human rights and effectively managed this issue at least within our owned factories and major tier one suppliers along with making inroads in the communities in which we live and work. As for the communities where we work, we continue to demonstrate our commitment with sustainable development through many initiatives, such as the expansion of our job retraining programs in alliance with a local governmental training organization. In one program alone, we helped more than 80 unemployed people, to learn and develop skills in areas such as beauty and baking, which presented them with an opportunity to become small entrepreneurs and provide for their families.
